Chinese

No entry for the previous day.. was too busy but i think it was pretty much the same meal as the day before.

Breakfast- one cup tea with a bowl of savouries. It's a sweet, crunchy, fried snack made from flour.

Lunch was at a Chinese restaurant. I had a glass of mocktail called Passion fruit Cooler. It tasted more like peaches and plums  than 'passion fruity'. My companion had a drink called Pretty Woman. And as the name suggests, it was all pink and cute and tasted better than mine. We ate chicken fried rice (which was a little bit dry) and chicken chilli garlic noodles (which was tasty) and fried prawns -which tasted more 'porky' than 'prawny'. The prawns had been dipped in some kind of batter which tasted of lard.

Two cups of tea in the evening.

Dinner- one serving rice with scrambled eggs, cucumbers and potatoes cooked with dried bamboo shoots

I was out at the local market. Ate a chicken burger with fries at McDonald's. I took a couple of sips from my companion's glass of Coke.  I'm not a fan of sodas.

Dinner- one serving of rice with chicken and cucumbers.
Ate chocolate cake for dessert. It was yummy!!

The First

So... this is the first post for my Meal Tracker.

Breakfast- one cup tea.

Between breakfast and lunch, i drank two cups of iced tea (lemon flavored). It's a store bought pre-mixed powder that i just have to add to a glass of chilled water and voila! my iced tea is ready.. It has a lot of sugar content. I like my drinks sweet!

Lunch- one serving of fried rice. And by fried rice, i mean rice that has been fried with onions and tomatoes.

Evening tea- two cups of tea..

Dinner- one and a half serving of rice with boiled lentils and fried spinach with tomato chutney.

A little bit more

Here's a little bit more about my dietary habits. There's been no changes in my food habits before and after my weight gain! My daily food habits can be summed up as...i drink, i eat, i drink and i eat again.... And by drinking, i mean tea...  Breakfast usually consists of one cup tea and biscuits/bread. Followed by lunch a couple of hours later, consisting of the Asian staple- rice with veggies and sometimes, meat. In the evening, i drink tea again and finally dinner- rice with veggies and/or meat.

Intro

Between  2003 to late 2010, my weight remained at a constant of 45 kilos. During this period, the heaviest i got was 49 kilos and the the lightest at 43 kilos. I'm 5 feet 3 inches tall. All my life, i have had people tell me that i look too thin.... I considered myself one of those who ate whatever they wanted and yet maintained a constant weight. In late 2010, i started working. Erratic work hours, change in food habits. And i started noticing that i had gained a couple of inches around the midriff.  Didn't think too much about it.  After returning from spending Christmas at my parents, i found that none of my old clothes fit.  I couldn't wear any of my jeans. My t shirts made me look like  someone well into their second trimester... People started telling me i had gained weight... And that's when i decided to create this blog to keep a track of my meals. Ergo, the very 'original' title..
